Ashthwarga is a group of eight rare medicinal plants mentioned in Ayurveda, primarily used in traditional formulations to promote vitality, rejuvenation, and overall health. Ashthwarga is a unique collection of eight potent herbs, most commonly referenced in classical Ayurvedic texts like Bhavprakash Nighantu. Most of the Ashthwarga plants are native to the Himalayan region, and some are now considered endangered due to overharvesting and habitat loss. Riddhi is one of these plants which comes under Ashtavarga.
Riddhi tubers are produced in the Kaushal mountains. Riddhi tubers are covered with white hairs, grow from vines and have holes. Riddhi is shaped like a cotton ball and its fruits rotate to the left. Riddhi has three names – Yogya, Siddhi and Lakshmi. Riddhi is a strength enhancer, removes the three doshas, increases sperm count, has madhur in rasa, is heavy to digest and is life-giving, brings prosperity and destroys fainting and hematemesis.
